Evaluate and document the project

Biojewellery had a range of aims at the outset and the purpose of evaluting the project is to see how these aims were met. When the project is completed, with the end of the exhibition at Guy's hospital, a full report will be availabe here.

The following initial details give an idea of how the project has been presented since the inital funding was awarded in winter 2004.

A range of audiences.

Biojewellery draws on the skills of a variety of disciplines and professions. These include materials engineering, cell biology, oral surgery, ethics, medical imaging, computer aided jewellery design, graphic design, interaction design, product design, fine art, media relations, journalism, science communication and sociology. While it is not unusual that a project of this type would draw upon such a range of skills, one novel feature of it's delivery is that it has remained transparent about the interrelation and even the direct conflict of these sources, rather than positioning itself as a particular type of project.

In this way the project has been able to appeal to different audiences, by selectively and variously combining these sources at different times. While the core narrative of the project stays the same, detailing the story in a flexible way means it can be relevant to a range of audiences, while also offering a challenge by remaining at the edge of the audiences expectations.
